Created attachment 281681 [details] Full log from bootup to shutdown I've upgraded from Linux 3.12.18 (amd64), where I had no problems, to 4.19.28. In the process of startup I got several warnings like below. And they repeated every several seconds to tens of seconds, coming in batches, all the time I was trying the new kernel. I also now experience some choppiness in my desktop (e.g. when moving mouse), keyboard keys get stuck or unnoticed, and the system feels sluggish (I guess the glitches happen when the messages are being printed to syslog). For full log since boot please see the attached file (this log was cut from /var/log/sys.log). Here's an example of the warning: [4.413535] WARNING: CPU: 2 PID: 0 at block/blk-flush.c:415 mq_flush_data_end_io+0x62/0x120 [4.422313] Modules linked in: [4.425608] CPU: 2 PID: 0 Comm: swapper/2 Not tainted 4.19.28-amd64-x32 #11 [4.432811] Hardware name: MSI MS-7850/B85-G41 PC Mate(MS-7850), BIOS V2.4 12/02/2013 [4.441069] RIP: 0010:mq_flush_data_end_io+0x62/0x120 [4.446364] Code: 8b 88 00 01 00 00 48 63 72 40 8b 34 b1 48 8b 88 18 01 00 00 4c 8b 24 f1 4d 8b b4 24 c0 00 00 00 48 83 78 18 00 74 0a 8b 4b 24 <0f> 0b 83 f9 ff 75 4e 4d 8d 6e 50 4c 89 ef e8 2b 31 2a 00 41 0f b6 [4.465733] RSP: 0018:ffff88862ea83aa8 EFLAGS: 00010086 [4.471203] RAX: ffff88861418cb80 RBX: ffff88861428bb80 RCX: 0000000000000000 [4.478578] RDX: ffffe8ffffcd2000 RSI: 0000000000000000 RDI: ffff88861428bb80 [4.485953] RBP: ffff88862ea83ae8 R08: 0000000000000400 R09: 0000000000000001 [4.493329] R10: ffff888615968d00 R11: 0000000000000000 R12: ffff8886140c7000 [4.500704] R13: 0000000000000000 R14: ffff888615199880 R15: 0000000000000000 [4.508079] FS: 0000000000000000(0000) GS:ffff88862ea80000(0000) knlGS:0000000000000000 [4.516598] CS: 0010 DS: 0000 ES: 0000 CR0: 0000000080050033 [4.522587] CR2: 000000000805d1f0 CR3: 0000000001e09005 CR4: 00000000001606e0 [4.529962] DR0: 0000000000000000 DR1: 0000000000000000 DR2: 0000000000000000 [4.537337] DR3: 0000000000000000 DR6: 00000000fffe0ff0 DR7: 0000000000000400 [4.544712] Call Trace: [4.547401] <IRQ> [4.549657] __blk_mq_end_request+0x72/0xd0 [4.554086] scsi_end_request+0xdd/0x2d0 [4.558251] scsi_io_completion+0x80/0x600 [4.562594] ? scsi_dec_host_busy+0x53/0x70 [4.567022] scsi_finish_command+0xda/0x110 [4.571450] scsi_softirq_done+0x128/0x130 [4.575794] blk_mq_complete_request+0xbe/0x140 [4.580569] ? scsi_setup_cmnd+0x140/0x140 [4.584911] scsi_mq_done+0x29/0xa0 [4.588645] ? scsi_setup_cmnd+0x140/0x140 [4.592989] ata_qc_done+0x22/0x30 [4.596637] ata_scsi_qc_complete+0x1e3/0x470 [4.601239] ? swiotlb_unmap_sg_attrs+0x4e/0x70 [4.606015] __ata_qc_complete+0xeb/0x160 [4.610270] ata_qc_complete+0xb0/0x340 [4.614350] ata_qc_complete_multiple+0xbe/0x100 [4.619215] ahci_handle_port_interrupt+0xe9/0x540 [4.624248] ? common_interrupt+0xa/0xf [4.628332] ahci_handle_port_intr+0x6d/0xc0 [4.632845] ahci_single_level_irq_intr+0x48/0x80 [4.637795] __handle_irq_event_percpu+0x3b/0x1f0 [4.642744] handle_irq_event_percpu+0x23/0x60 [4.647432] handle_irq_event+0x3f/0x70 [4.651514] handle_edge_irq+0x9e/0x130 [4.655595] handle_irq+0x18/0x30 [4.659149] do_IRQ+0x72/0x120 [4.662450] common_interrupt+0xf/0xf [4.666359] </IRQ> [4.668699] RIP: 0010:cpuidle_enter_state+0xb3/0x2f0 [4.673908] Code: ae 7e e8 f0 6f b6 ff 44 8b 6b 04 49 89 c6 0f 1f 44 00 00 31 ff e8 8d 7a b6 ff 45 84 ff 75 67 fb 48 ba cf f7 53 e3 a5 9b c4 20 <4c> 2b 75 c0 4c 89 f0 49 c1 fe 3f 48 f7 ea b8 ff ff ff 7f 48 c1 fa [4.693279] RSP: 0018:ffffc900000a3e18 EFLAGS: 00000246 ORIG_RAX: ffffffffffffffde [4.701276] RAX: ffff88862ea80000 RBX: ffffe8ffffc8dff0 RCX: 000000000000001f [4.708652] RDX: 20c49ba5e353f7cf RSI: ffffffff81d32073 RDI: ffffffff81d4ac6a [4.716035] RBP: ffffc900000a3e68 R08: 0000000040000431 R09: 071c71c71c71c71c [4.723411] R10: 0000000000044c80 R11: 0000000000000000 R12: 0000000000000005 [4.730787] R13: 0000000000000002 R14: 000000010710c99c R15: 0000000000000000 [4.738162] ? cpuidle_enter_state+0xa3/0x2f0 [4.742764] cpuidle_enter+0x12/0x20 [4.746580] do_idle+0x1d5/0x280 [4.750054] cpu_startup_entry+0x5f/0x70 [4.754223] start_secondary+0x163/0x180 [4.758390] secondary_startup_64+0xa4/0xb0 [4.762821] ---[ end trace d7350223307f223c ]---

No such problem with 4.14.105: no messages in the log (since the WARN_ON statement is not there), nor is there any sluggishness.
