> [GTF0] Namespace lookup failure
GTF0 is not present in any of the tables attached.
Either the tables are broken, or we are not loading the
tables that the BIOS writer expects us to load.
The power chord issue may be yet a 3rd problem with this machine.
Does the system behave the same way if the toshiba_acpi
driver is not loaded?
my hope was that the dynamic tables would contain it.... the tables were from 2.6.38 shall i upload the 3.0 tables? after rmmod toshiba_acpi (libacpi still there) pluging power cord: [ 259.918796] EXT4-fs (sda1): re-mounted. acpi=off was pointless....
is there anything else i cant try?or help you in any way? It's great that the kernel bugzilla is back. Can you please verify if the problem still exists in the latest upstream kernel? y problem is still there I have the same GTF0 lookup failure on a Toshiba Portege Z830, running Linux 3.5.3. Looks like the ACPI table referencing GTF0 and GTF1 is SSDT1 (SataAhci). They're declared external, but they're not mentioned in DSDT at all. Any ideas where in the GNVS it should reside? Anything I can provide to help get this issue solved? i have toshiba z830 and use kernel 3.6.5. /var/log/message about acpi Nov 7 21:05:05 linux-rv3v kernel: BIOS-e820: [mem 0x00000000aa2ef000-0x00000000aa2ef1ff] ACPI NVS Nov 7 21:05:05 linux-rv3v kernel: BIOS-e820: [mem 0x00000000aa2f2000-0x00000000aa3eefff] ACPI NVS Nov 7 21:05:05 linux-rv3v kernel: BIOS-e820: [mem 0x00000000aa3ef000-0x00000000aa40efff] ACPI data Nov 7 21:05:05 linux-rv3v kernel: ACPI: RSDP 00000000000f0030 00014 (v00 TOSHIB) Nov 7 21:05:05 linux-rv3v kernel: ACPI: RSDT 00000000aa40e038 00050 (v01 TOSHIB A0081 00000001 01000013) Nov 7 21:05:05 linux-rv3v kernel: ACPI: FACP 00000000aa40d000 00081 (v02 TOSHIB A0081 00000001 LOHR 0000005F) Nov 7 21:05:05 linux-rv3v kernel: ACPI: DSDT 00000000aa3fc000 08AEE (v02 TOSHIB A0081 20110909 INTL 20061109) Nov 7 21:05:05 linux-rv3v kernel: ACPI: FACS 00000000aa3dc000 00040 Nov 7 21:05:05 linux-rv3v kernel: ACPI: HPET 00000000aa40c000 00038 (v01 TOSHIB A0081 00000001 LOHR 0000005F) Nov 7 21:05:05 linux-rv3v kernel: ACPI: APIC 00000000aa40b000 000BC (v01 TOSHIB A0081 00000001 LOHR 0000005F) Nov 7 21:05:05 linux-rv3v kernel: ACPI: MCFG 00000000aa40a000 0003C (v01 TOSHIB A0081 00000001 LOHR 0000005F) Nov 7 21:05:05 linux-rv3v kernel: ACPI: ASF! 00000000aa409000 000A0 (v32 TOSHIB A0081 00000001 LOHR 0000005F) Nov 7 21:05:05 linux-rv3v kernel: ACPI: BOOT 00000000aa407000 00028 (v01 TOSHIB A0081 00000000 LOHR 0000005F) Nov 7 21:05:05 linux-rv3v kernel: ACPI: SLIC 00000000aa406000 00176 (v01 TOSHIB A0081 00000000 LOHR 0000005F) Nov 7 21:05:05 linux-rv3v kernel: ACPI: SSDT 00000000aa3fb000 00395 (v01 TOSHIB SataAhci 00001000 INTL 20061109) Nov 7 21:05:05 linux-rv3v kernel: ACPI: SSDT 00000000aa3f8000 00720 (v01 TOSHIB PtidDevc 00001000 INTL 20061109) Nov 7 21:05:05 linux-rv3v kernel: ACPI: SSDT 00000000aa3f6000 00827 (v01 PmRef Cpu0Ist 00003000 INTL 20061109) Nov 7 21:05:05 linux-rv3v kernel: ACPI: SSDT 00000000aa3f5000 00996 (v01 PmRef CpuPm 00003000 INTL 20061109) Nov 7 21:05:05 linux-rv3v kernel: ACPI: Local APIC address 0xfee00000 Nov 7 21:05:05 linux-rv3v kernel: ACPI: PM-Timer IO Port: 0x408 Nov 7 21:05:05 linux-rv3v kernel: ACPI: Local APIC address 0xfee00000 Nov 7 21:05:05 linux-rv3v kernel: ACPI: LAPIC (acpi_id[0x00] lapic_id[0x00] enabled) Nov 7 21:05:05 linux-rv3v kernel: ACPI: LAPIC (acpi_id[0x01] lapic_id[0x01] enabled) Nov 7 21:05:05 linux-rv3v kernel: ACPI: LAPIC (acpi_id[0x02] lapic_id[0x02] enabled) Nov 7 21:05:05 linux-rv3v kernel: ACPI: LAPIC (acpi_id[0x03] lapic_id[0x03] enabled) Nov 7 21:05:05 linux-rv3v kernel: ACPI: LAPIC (acpi_id[0x04] lapic_id[0x00] disabled) Nov 7 21:05:05 linux-rv3v kernel: ACPI: LAPIC (acpi_id[0x05] lapic_id[0x00] disabled) Nov 7 21:05:05 linux-rv3v kernel: ACPI: LAPIC (acpi_id[0x06] lapic_id[0x00] disabled) Nov 7 21:05:05 linux-rv3v kernel: ACPI: LAPIC (acpi_id[0x07] lapic_id[0x00] disabled) Nov 7 21:05:05 linux-rv3v kernel: ACPI: LAPIC_NMI (acpi_id[0x00] high edge lint[0x1]) Nov 7 21:05:05 linux-rv3v kernel: ACPI: LAPIC_NMI (acpi_id[0x01] high edge lint[0x1]) Nov 7 21:05:05 linux-rv3v kernel: ACPI: LAPIC_NMI (acpi_id[0x02] high edge lint[0x1]) Nov 7 21:05:05 linux-rv3v kernel: ACPI: LAPIC_NMI (acpi_id[0x03] high edge lint[0x1]) Nov 7 21:05:05 linux-rv3v kernel: ACPI: LAPIC_NMI (acpi_id[0x04] high edge lint[0x1]) Nov 7 21:05:05 linux-rv3v kernel: ACPI: LAPIC_NMI (acpi_id[0x05] high edge lint[0x1]) Nov 7 21:05:05 linux-rv3v kernel: ACPI: LAPIC_NMI (acpi_id[0x06] high edge lint[0x1]) Nov 7 21:05:05 linux-rv3v kernel: ACPI: LAPIC_NMI (acpi_id[0x07] high edge lint[0x1]) Nov 7 21:05:05 linux-rv3v kernel: ACPI: IOAPIC (id[0x02] address[0xfec00000] gsi_base[0]) Nov 7 21:05:05 linux-rv3v kernel: ACPI: INT_SRC_OVR (bus 0 bus_irq 0 global_irq 2 dfl dfl) Nov 7 21:05:05 linux-rv3v kernel: ACPI: INT_SRC_OVR (bus 0 bus_irq 9 global_irq 9 high level) Nov 7 21:05:05 linux-rv3v kernel: ACPI: IRQ0 used by override. The GTF0/1 is not defined anywhere, but referenced in _SDD control method. When this control method gets run, it will access the GTF0/1, and that caused a run time namespace look up error, and that also caused the control method's execution failed. But I think this will not affect your SATA device, it should function correctly, right? What the BIOS people tried to do here is to set NCQ autosense feature for the drive. And Steven & Marc, I think you are having the same problem here, and I don't think there is anything Linux can do to avoid this, as the table is broken. If possible, you can contact Toshiba to ask them fix the SSDT1 table. I'll mark this as not fix. |
