This seems to be the difference between two systems on coreutils-9.4 where `install` comes from on my systems: Linux (works): $ mkdir -p foo; echo 42 | install -m 644 -T /dev/stdin ./foo/a; echo $? 0 Darwin (fails): $ mkdir -p foo; echo 42 | install -m 644 -T /dev/stdin ./foo/a; echo $? install: skipping file '/dev/stdin', as it was replaced while being copied 1 https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/docs/man-pages/man-pages.git/commit/?id=9524f0f63badd896ccf6da7d79511100d86c4721 fixes it for me. Thanks for reminding me that I should close this! :-) Have a lovely day! Alex |
