Thanks for the bug report. Does it work better if you disable ohci1394 and ehci_hcd? (ie, don't build them into the kernel, or otherwise unload them) Also, would be good to update to -test9. thanks, -Len ps. re: filing bugs, for things larger than a page it is generally easier to read if you follow the link for creating an attachment and attach them as files. Thanks for looking into this problem. I installed a 2.6-test9 kernel and compiled ehci support as a module (before it was compiled directly into the kernel). I rebooted and made sure that both the ehci and ohci modules were not loaded. The machine showed the same message on suspend except it did not have the error about ehci_hcd dieing. Is there anything else I should try or other debugging information I can get you. And this time I'll make sure to attach it instead of including it into the main message. :-) -Evan same problem with my vaio pcg-z1sp so i think a solution would work for both here. greets, nils I have a similar problem. When I do echo 3 > sleep or echo -n mem > /sys/power/state, my computer goes to sleep. Everything is turned off, and the sleep light turns on. When I try to wake it up, I hear the disk starting up, and the light on the USB mouse also turns on, as well as the ON light. The thing is, the display doesn't turn on, it just stays black, so I don't know what's going on in there... :\ Ps.: I'm using the kernel 2.6.1 atm Similar problem here - Compaq Presario 2100 notebook. The notebook goes to sleep and flashes the power light correctly. After pressing the power button the notebook spins up the disk, turns on the display but then completely shuts off immediately. Created attachment 1906 [details] ACPI Info From dmesg I'm now using a 2.6.1 kernel, and have turned on verbose debugging for ACPI (I've cut out some stuff from the attachment that doesn't have to do with ACPI). This seems to be the exact problem that is going on here: http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1730 We have several of the same errors in dmesg. Thanks again for all of your help. Is the problem still there with latest 2.6 kernel? If yes, can you make sure whether the problem is only with restore of the video (try connecting through network or serial after resume). If it is only the video problem, - Please try the options in Documentation/power/video.txt - Try the workaround in bug #3670 with 2.6.9 I can still use the computer over the wire, but the screen doesn't come back on, this is what I get on my Xorg.log (WW) I810(0): Extended BIOS function 0x5f64 failed. LAptop is dead after wakeup, could not log into it over the network. does it work with recent kernels and the tricks described in Documentation/power/video.txt ? *** Bug 1877 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Suspend to RAM works great now on my Sony Vaio PCG-V505BX. Thanks! bug reporter reported working suspend-to-RAM |
