Comment 2 Andrew Morton 2008-05-21 15:01:57 UTC
I'm having trouble here. I _think_ that you're running the
"r86 Gigabit Ethernet driver", yes? afacit that isn't
in the kernel.org tree, and it got added by someone else?

Can you clarify?
Comment 3 Dariusz Handzlik 2008-05-22 03:37:48 UTC
On 2.6.18 debian kernel (Linux version 2.6.18-6-686 (Debian 2.6.18.dfsg.1-18etch3) (dannf@debian.org) (gcc version 4.1.2 20061115 (prerelease) (Debian 4.1.1-21)) #1 SMP Thu Apr 24 08:33:59 UTC 2008) is everything OK, but when I want to use pure or debian or ubuntu 2.6.24 or 2.6.25 (i need it because contain graphics drivers) I have kernel oops.

2.6.18 kernel load:
"r8169 Gigabit Ethernet driver 2.2LK-NAPI loaded"
But 2.6.24/25:
r86 Gigabit Ethernet driver 2.2LK loaded and then you now.
So what i should do?
Comment 4 Dariusz Handzlik 2008-05-22 03:51:59 UTC
The solution is rather simple. I have to backport /drivers/net/r8169.c from 2.6.18 kernel to 2.6.25

It seems he is using the r8169 driver and made many typos when manually typing the Oops.

@Dariusz:
How exactly did you generate your "Full DMESG"?
You seem to have typed it by hand?
Comment 6 Francois Romieu 2008-05-30 10:40:31 UTC
This is probably a duplicate of http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10665

Dariusz, can you check that latest 2.6.26-rc or v2.6.25.4 works for you ?

Comment 7 Simon Depiets 2008-08-14 01:03:10 UTC
I had same error with 2.6.[24|25], it works in 2.6.27-rc2
Comment 8 Simon Depiets 2008-08-14 01:04:51 UTC
It is a duplicate
