Description TipiT 2012-10-04 06:50:33 UTC
Power off the computer can only be done by pressing a power button after the freeze which happens after doing shutdown from UI or command line by executing "shutdown 0", "shutdown -P 0", etc.

Doing shutdown the process executes nicely before the very end but then it just freezes. Not error log messages left.

Could you try booting with the reboot=efi kernel parameter and see if things improve?

dmesg (of noefi boot) and decompiled acpi dsdt table

Hello, (hope I'm not hijacking anything... However this bug fits the description)

seems like I have been bitten by a similar bug. The desktop PC (Fujitsu Esprimo Q900 - I3-2350M, H61, 4Gig) does not power-off, it just freezes with no message. So, is there a way to debug the problem any further?

Regards,
   Chr

Note: Rebooting works... Although it takes ages (ok, about 15-20 seconds) before after the kernel says it's rebooting.

Note2: I have already tried reboot=efi, force, bios, acpi and noefi (see attached dmesg)

Note3: tried 2.6.32-5-amd64 (debian) and ia32 kernels 3.8.0, 3.8.2, 3.8.3 with the android patches... all with the same result.
