my kernel configuration

After updating to kernel 4.0.0, changing brightness via keyboard keys causes the screen to flash.
It not flashing black and white, but instead when the brightness is high, it flashes to a low brightness before changing back. When the brightness is low, it flashes to a high brightness before changing back.

Running weston causes parts of the screen to flash and tear black and white. The part that tears depends on where the mouse is; it usually tears everything under the mouse.

This didn't happen on kernels 3.14 - 3.19
