Description Izak van Langevelde 2015-03-11 11:06:20 UTC
Mouse is fully functional, but the mouse cursor is invisible.
The problem exists right from boot, i.e. before login.

I can confirm this using kernel 3.19.3, fglrx-installer-15.200, xf86-video-intel-2.20.13, Intel Corporation 2nd Generation Core Processor Family Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 09), Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Whistler [Radeon HD 6730M/6770M/7690M XT], xorg-1.17 server. I have a hybrid graphics device, and I have upgraded enough of my system that downgrading is going to really hurt. If anyone ou there is interested in tackling this, please let me know what kind of data I can provide to help.

I can confirm this issue for Kernel 4.0 and Intel HD Graphics 4400. My graphics software stack is almost current.
Comment 3 bjoernv 2015-04-29 18:57:52 UTC
As a temporary workaround I can:
1) use and older Kernel (<=3.9 works for me)
2) logout and log-in again

This bug downstream in Ubuntu: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1440422
Comment 5 Rupert Rutledge 2015-08-08 18:41:02 UTC
I can confirm this using Kernel 4.1.3 stable release.

Integrated graphics on an Intel i5-3570: Intel Corporation Xeon E3-1200 v2/3rd Gen Core processor Graphics Controller.

Workarounds in comment 3 work for me.

Any other information I can give to help?
Comment 6 sulit 2015-12-03 11:13:43 UTC
I can confirm this using Kernel 4.4.0-rc3

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Intel Corporation 2nd Generation Core Processor Family Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:0102] (rev 09)

I use the command "sudo pkill X", the mouse is visible.

The mouse cursor is invisible probabilistically.

Any other information I can give to help?
