Description Larry Finger 2015-02-24 03:02:16 UTC
Intermittently, the i915 driver reports the following:

[drm:intel_uncore_check_errors [i915]] *ERROR* Unclaimed register before interrupt

These errors do not seem to interfere with system operation - they just spam the logs.

This error was seem in 3.19, but not reported there. I do not know if it happened with earlier kernels.

If debugging info is needed, please provide the startup parameter needed.

Not sure if it'll help, but please try to reproduce the issue with later kernels with i915.mmio_debug=10 and drm.debug=14 module parameters set.

Please attach the dmesg anyway so we'll know a bit more about your system.

Long time no updates, closing.

If the problem persists with latest kernels, please file a bug at the freedesktop.org bugzilla [1], referencing this bug. Thank you.
