Additional information: Kernel was built with gcc (GCC) 4.2.2, GNU assembler (GNU Binutils) 2.18
Comment 4 Thomas Bächler 2007-11-11 03:48:18 UTC
I just did another test: I can boot if I don't load the battery module (no oops in power_supply with the ac module only). However, if I load the battery module later, the oops still occurs!
Comment 5 Rafael J. Wysocki 2007-11-11 09:50:47 UTC
Hm. This might be an ACPI bug, then.

Adding Alex to the CC list.
Comment 7 Rafael J. Wysocki 2007-11-21 16:04:03 UTC
Len, I hope this patch is going to Linus?
Comment 8 Len Brown 2007-11-21 23:49:36 UTC
Yes, this patch was in my rc3 pull request to Linus --
though apparently now that it is Thanksgiving here in the US
he is not pulling patches right now.

Note that we use RESOLVED to denote reports which
have a proposed patch.

We use CLOSED only when the patch is upstream in Linus' tree.

Thus I'm changing this report back to RESOLVED from CLOSED.
Comment 9 Len Brown 2008-01-10 19:22:25 UTC
shipped in 2.6.24-rc4
closed.
