When I upgraded the kernel 3.16.x or 3.17.x my system hangs after a few hours. Support for OpenGL (hardware support) in my KDE4 fails. Quoting from the console.

A GPU dump for Chris to look at... one of these days I'll need to teach myself what to look for in the dumps.
