I have a FlyDVB-S LR300. I am unable to pick up certain UK channels, particularly any BBC channels (except radio), any ITV channels and Film4. I am able to pick up these channels in Windows, though the driver frequently crashes. That's probably unrelated. I am also able to pick up these channels using a regular Sky box. I have tried many things including adjusting the dish but all to no avail so I am starting to suspect the driver. The frontend is the Philips TDA10086. I will provide any information you require, just ask. I'm also happy to try anything you suggest. I described the problem in more detail on the mailing list here... http://www.linuxtv.org/pipermail/linux-dvb/2007-July/018898.html
Please check if the following patch fixes the issue: http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/mchehab/v4l-dvb.git;a=commit;h=c6604150ab04aaaf98baf1ddca2e9e4f7d3da4d3
I'm afraid not. I'm using 2.6.22 now, which already has that patch applied. I originally encountered the problem on 2.6.21, which was released before that patch was applied. So it made no difference.
There where other fixes related to signals with low signal_rate. Could you test again with the latest development tree? It is at: http://linuxtv.org/hg/v4l-dvb
It was fixed by the patch attached here, though I didn't know about it until a couple of months after it was posted. It hadn't been applied to the tree the last time I checked but that was a while ago now. http://www.linuxtv.org/pipermail/linux-dvb/2007-June/018741.html I could have sworn I'd updated this bug report to say this. Sorry about that.
Ok, I'm adding the patch at the development tree. It should be available for kernel 2.6.24.
