Use case, end user was trying to copy files from his laptop to a Linux system to access his NFS home directory. At some point files were not being transferred. It appeared as though something stalled. The end user terminated the WinSCP application. 

I then restarted racoon and reloaded autofs daemons. I have attached some of the file server's kernel buffer information.

It looks like the ext4 log is hung. Reassigning to Bruce so he can take a look, but I suspect this should really be assigned to the ext4 developers.

Yes, the first backtraces there all show an nfsd IO operation waiting in ext4.  Some later backtraces show waiting on the state lock but that could easily be a consequence.  Assuming for now it's an ext4/jbd problem.
