Description Imran J 2002-11-16 14:00:50 UTC
(Please check that the problem happens on Linus' tree if not then file under the
Alternate Trees category.)
Exact Kernel version: 2.4.57
Distribution: Mandrake
Hardware Environment: AMD k7 800 mhz
Software Environment: Mandrake 8.1 and its related libaries
Problem Description: In the Frame buffer section the driver fails to compile
when make bzImage is initiated to compile the kernel, if this driver isn't
selected the kernel compiles cleanly without errors, and this is same for ATI's
Radeon and Rage 32, and might be for other frame buffer drivers too........ are
their any patch to make them work as with it i can't proceed further to test the
beta kernel in any way as i can't boot in the first place.

And if u fellow ppl have any idea of how to make mandrake boot with out the
frame buffer driver or whatever so i can start testing it........?

Steps to reproduce: Well all those ppl who are having radeon gpu's select the
required driver in the frame buffer section under console drivers, and either u
compile it in the kernel ya as a module i am sure u will not be able to compile
the kernel.
