The 3.8 kernel works great but the 3.9 kernel causes audio to stutter if I use jack and vlc. vlc works fine if I don't use jack and mplayer works fine with or without jack. My 3.8 and 3.9 kernel configs are the same inside CONFIG_SND. I went over this quite a bit on the vlc list but was not able to find a solution:

I filed a vlc bug was referred here.

Does the problem still happen with the recent kernels?
If so, please give alsa-info.sh output (run it with --no-upload option).
