Description Guenter Roeck 2013-07-09 22:48:06 UTC
On Supermicro C7H61, BIOS version 2.00 dated 11/02/2012 or 2.0b dated 03/29/2013, with i7-3770K CPU, the following error message is seen repeatedly:

Timed out waiting for forcewake old ack to clear

On a heavily loaded system, this can result in a hangup within a few minutes.

Reverting commit 36ec8f877 (drm/i915: unconditionally use mt forcewake on hsw/ivb) fixes the problem.

The link in comment 2 pooints to a research paper writing service, making me wonder if the post is clickbait / spam.
