Description Raphael Sales 2005-12-16 14:18:39 UTC
Most recent kernel where this bug did not occur: 2.4.30 w/ OpenMosix patch

Distribution:Gentoo

Hardware Environment:
CPU: AMD Sempron(TM) 2400+
Memory: 1GB of RAM
Motherboard: Asus A7V600-X
Mouse: VCOM PS/2 Optical Mouse Model Number C235-PS2-V

Software Environment:
coldplug-20040
udev-070-r1

If any other software might be relevant, let me know.

Problem Description:
On kernels of the 2.4.xx series, the mouse works fine, with mouse wheel and
everything.

But on 2.6.xx kernels, as soon as I move the mouse, the light goes off. It only
goes on again if I unplug and replug the mouse in the PS/2 socket.

Strangely, it detects the mouse as an ImExPS/2 mouse, but it is a simple ImPS/2
mouse. At first, I thought that the protocol was the problem, but limiting the
max_proto to ImPS/2, either by kernel variable or by editing the psmouse_base.c
and removing all the other protocols, proved me wrong.

I'm sorry for not having much more information. If you need my cooperation, feel
free to e-mail me and ask for more info.

Steps to reproduce:
After booting, move the mouse and the light goes off.
