I've been using this camera on my desktop for the last year, if not longer, without issue. 

I'm not currently running a mainline kernel but have rather been running those shipped with Fedora 23, which is 4.4.8-300.fc23.x86_64 at the moment. While I don't see any patches in Fedora's kernel repository that might influence this I'd be happy to build and boot an unmodified mainline kernel to verify.
