Description Steve Lane 2013-01-24 01:23:08 UTC
The ARECA arcmsr driver has not (as far as I can tell) been updated since version 1.20.00.15 02/27/2008; the current version, available from:

http://www.areca.com.tw/support/s_linux/linux.htm

is 1.20.0X.15-111012 2011/10/12. Current ARECA hardware is unsupported by the older driver.

Please note that the older version is also present in the 3.7.4 kernel as well.

Thanks/best,

Any news on this front?

Areca driver is really obsolete and I'm unable to install linux to controller available on the market since several months.

Latest version downloadable here:

http://www.areca.us/support/s_linux/driver/arcmsr-1.30.0X.16-131015.zip
Comment 2 Alan 2014-01-19 14:09:46 UTC
Areca have not afaik submitted updates and nobody else is maintaining the driver.

This bug probably can be closed. The mentioned driver version was included in 3.18 AFAICT.
