Steps to reproduce:boot into any kernel newer than 2.6.12

OK, thanks, David.  THis was discussed on linux-usb-devel a bit,
topic "quick question; did usb hid change from .12 to .13-rc3 on x86_64?".

A straightforward regression.  We bad.

i assume it's been fixed in .13 then?  if not, do you need me to cross post all
the information i put in the linux-usb list?

Have you tried 2.6.13 to see if it happens there?

I'm assuming this issue is already fixed.

Please reopen this bug if it's still present in recent 2.6 kernels.
