Description Priit Laes 2005-03-19 09:24:02 UTC
Distribution:Gentoo GNU/Linux
Hardware Environment:x86 (Dell Latitude C600)

Steps to reproduce:
1. Plug in the camera
2. Start capturing image data from the camera.
3. Unplug the camera while capturing.
4. Freeze :(

I'm using Spypen Luxo pencam.

I also found one simple patch against this driver:

Actually, this has always freezed the system. With all the 2.6 series kernels.
Don't remember about 2.4 though...
Comment 2 Greg Kroah-Hartman 2005-03-21 23:25:28 UTC
That patch only adds a device id :)

I think I have one of these devices around here somewhere, I'll dig it up
and see how it works. Will probably take me a few days, but as this has always
died, I don't think it's a big rush...

Is this bug still present in 2.6.12-rc5?
Comment 4 Priit Laes 2005-05-26 00:14:20 UTC
Problem still exists in 2.6.12-rc5
Comment 5 Greg Kroah-Hartman 2005-06-06 14:38:58 UTC
Can you get a kernel oops message for this? Without it, there's almost
no way we can try to fix it.
Comment 6 Greg Kroah-Hartman 2005-08-18 00:28:24 UTC
bug #5086 has an oops message, marking this one duplicate of that.
