on some laptops, the kernel doesn't deactivate the usb controller, resulting in a black screen and forcing to a hard reset.

Please get people to retest with a current kernel

commit 151b61284776be2d6f02d48c23c3625678960b97 should have fixed this.

It would be useful to know which machines are fixed and if any are not.
