Description Andreas Siegert 2012-04-24 12:17:44 UTC
The realtek WiFi driver shipped with 3.2, 3.3 and 3.4 is not very stable on my TP x120e, leading to dropped connections or frequent connection re-establishment with long timeouts.

Installing the driver from the realtek site fixes the problem (rtl_92ce_92se_92de_linux_mac80211_0005.1230.2011)

OK, I know you have a Realtek PCI device, but your report is very incomplete! What device do you have? Post the appropriate line of the output of 'lspci -nn'.

Telling me it is a TP x120e is not sufficient.

Sorry, I thought there is enough info in the referenced Ubuntu bugtracker entry...

This is the device:

04:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8188CE 802.11b/g/n WiFi Adapter [10ec:8176] (rev 01)

This bug relates to a very old kernel. Closing as obsolete.
