Description Sid Payton 2012-04-16 21:00:28 UTC
Most of the time the network manager doesn't connect to a network, although the signal is strong.
Sometimes it starts working after I dis/enable the wireless again.
This happens since 11.10 and it's really horrorble to use my Netbook (EeePC 1015PEM).
It worked some versions erlier. But I can't remember the version.
It also happens with other networks.

I reported this bug on launchpad first an was than asked to report it here as well. I don't know how to add the relevant files which were generated by apport to this site so I add the link to the relevant bug on launchpad.

Looks like bcm4313 -- I have trouble keeping track of which device is which, so I'll let the Broadcom folks tell me if I Cc'ed the wrong person... :-)
Comment 2 Arend van Spriel 2012-04-18 12:45:59 UTC
Looking into the info on launchpad it is indeed a bcm4313. Also I see the regulatory domain being set to DE (Germany) so you could be facing issue with channels 12 and 13 during scanning (your AP seems on channel 1 [2412MHz]).

A patch has been submitted upstream that may solve your issue. It is marked for inclusion in 3.2 and 3.3 stable kernels.
Comment 3 Sid Payton 2012-04-24 08:43:54 UTC
I have tried the 3.4 kernel. Was the fix included in that one as well, cause it didn't work with?!

Please have a look into the network eduroam (networks on all european universitys) on my logs as well. I know that several linux users at my university have problems with that network.
Could you give me a link so I could try the new kernel you said it would include the fix? Thanks
