Created attachment 72727 [details] logfiles (dmesg, cpuinfo etc.) I use a Thinkpad X60 with Ubuntu 12.04 and Upstream-Kernel 3.3.0-030300rc7-generic I filed a bug report on Launchpad: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/955819 My problem: 1) Close lid and wait for the light, that indicates, that notebook is suspended 2) Put Notebook in bag 3) Drive home and get notebook out again case 1) It woke up on the way home and is pretty hot in its case case 2) Schroedinger paradox: One light indicates that device is still sleeping, the other, that it is awake 4) This happens from time to time and is a regression. I use Ubuntu on that machine since 7.04. What is the newest upstream Linux kernel that works? What is the newest upstream Linux kernel that fails?
I'll test it, but this may take a while, since this problem only occurs from time to time.
Hi Kristian, What is the status of the problem, still occur on latest upstream kernel? Thanks.
I let it slide a little. With the latest kernel from Ubuntu 12.04 wakeups still happened from time to time. I suspect it might be some kind of key pressing issue that wakes up the machine while the lid is closed. Or it might be an hardware error on my pretty old thinkpad. But I installed Kernel 3.8 from Ubuntu PPA today and will report if wakeups happen again.
One thing you can try: disable all devices in /proc/acpi/wakeup, see if it still wakeup automatically.
Hi Kristian, Is there any update?
ping...
hi, kristian, is there any chance that you can try aaron's suggestion in comment #6?
Sorry, problem ist that I bought a new laptop a few weeks ago and do not use my X60 anymore. I now use X230 and didn't hit any bugs yet.
okay. Bug closed.
