This entry is being used for tracking a regression from 3.1. Please don't
close it until the problem is fixed in the mainline.

I have the same issue, on a Latitude E6420 laptop. No sound at all, unless I downgrade the kernel.

Does the problem still exist with the latest kernel (3.12)?
