Decompiled DSDT table

acer_wmi kernel module is prevent of correct work of Acer Aspire one 721-148ss.
For example if this kernel module is loaded it's not possible to enable WiFi.
First bugreport here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/791373
Blacklisting of acer_wmi solve this problem. So probably acer_wmi is doesn't support of Acer AO 721 (or have support, but this support is buggy).

I also want to note, with 2.6.35 kernel I have only one problem with acer_wmi https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/683979 (it's not my bugreport, but I have exactly same problem with 2.6.35 kernel on Acer AO 721).

Decompiled DSDT table of Acer Aspire one 721-148ss attached.

This an acer_wmi issue rather than an ACPI issue.
moving the platform drivers category.

I usually assume that nobody's looking at the bugzilla reports :(

I think this one was originally miscategorised - nobody had done
anything with it in 2-3 weeks.

I always ask them file bug on kernel bugzilla when anyone sent the mail
to me for acer-wmi issue.

So, I am wrong? When should we use email bug not bugzilla?

Could you please give me what's the issue kernel's version? Does 2.6.37
kernel have problem?

On the bug, you said the 2.6.35 kernel works fine, but you didn't say
which kernel have problem.

Thank's a lot!

I didn't try 2.6.37. 2.6.38 have this problem.
Kubuntu 11.04.

Assume you use function key to enable wifi.

Could you please attached whole dmesg log on bugzilla after you press the Fn key to enable WiFi ?

Not only button. Please read what I tried here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/791373

> Could you please attached whole dmesg log on bugzilla after you press the Fn
key to enable WiFi ?
Currently I doesn't have access to hardware. I can attach whole dmesg log at the end of next week.

OK, I readed it.

Yes, the dmesg will be useful, I can check the log when system boot and acer-wmi probe, and also can see does there have any log from acer-wmi when you press Fn key or access rfkill.

I always search acer-wmi bugs by "acer-wmi" keyword, I add "acer_wmi"
keyword to my search list in the future.

Good news. Tested today with Linux 3.0.3 (Kubuntu 11.10 Beta 1) and now it's works fine. So probably this bug is already fixed.
