Description Hadmut Danisch 2011-08-01 14:57:49 UTC
Hi,

I have some Hauppage WinTV usb sticks,
Bus 002 Device 002: ID 2040:7070 Hauppauge Nova-T Stick 3
detected as a 'DiBcom 7000PC'

That USB stick was working perfectly under Linux/Ubuntu about 3 or 4 years ago.

With today's kernel I have the problem that the stick is still detected, but devices for /dev/dvb/adapter... are created only. No /dev/video0 anymore.

Thus, most of the available frontend software (e.g. xawtv) cannot use the adapter anymore and it is rather difficult to find software able to deal with that stick.

Where is that /dev/video support gone (or whatever it was why it was working much better years ago)?

regards
