Distribution: gentoo Hardware Environment: ASUS P4C800E-Deluxe Software Environment: Problem Description: acpi_bus-0081 [03] acpi_bus_get_device : Error getting context for object [c1961b10] acpi_bus-0081 [03] acpi_bus_get_device : Error getting context for object [c1963dbc] acpi_bus-0081 [03] acpi_bus_get_device : Error getting context for object [c1963f84] acpi_bus-0081 [03] acpi_bus_get_device : Error getting context for object [c19653a4] acpi_bus-0081 [03] acpi_bus_get_device : Error getting context for object [c19669e0] The problem appears with 2.6.10-rc3-bk8 and several older versions, but *IT IS* fixed by acpi-20041203-2.6.10-rc3.diff.bz2. Hope this "bugreport" will help you put it into the official kernel tree soon - I don't see anything similar logged in bugzilla. ;) Attached diff is a comparison of vanilla 2.6.10-rc3-bk8 against the acpi patched version of the same. Steps to reproduce:
Created attachment 4261 [details] diff no_acpi_vs_acpi dmesg diff, show that it is fixed by current acpi patches.
Created attachment 4262 [details] dmesg-2.6.10-rc3-bk8-acpi
