i have a lenovo g470 and inserting the sd card into the built-in sd card reader and it doesn't do anything. but I tried connecting my celphone with mass storage via USB and the card is detected.

Just after inserting your sd card, do this using root:

echo 1 > /sys/bus/pci/rescan

For me it helps...

Where to to track in enters the mainline now ?
