Description Anton 2011-04-06 04:50:22 UTC
It's started here:
http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-866955-highlight-.html

Thinkpad x201
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Core Processor Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 02)

kernel 2.6.38-2.6.38.2
x11-drivers/xf86-video-intel-{2.14.0 | 2.14.902} in KVM mode

So, once again, the bug does not appear immediately. A computer boots up normally and xdm starts xorg (both screens runs in lower laptop mode).
An external monitor becomes flickering red after a login (I use gnome) then a gnome display manager (?) switches monitors to the previous state which is:
laptop off, external monitor on

It was working fine with all previous kernels including 2.6.37

I'm getting this too on an x201 on a fedora 15 using gnome3
Comment 2 Anton 2011-05-02 09:08:51 UTC
The bug seems fixed in sys-kernel/git-sources-2.6.39_rc5-r4.ebuild (patch-2.6.39-rc5-git4.bz2 ?)

I'll keep it open until the final release.
