Hi, I've noticed that after kernel upgrade from 2.6.37.5 to 2.6.38.x, mouse cursor freezes for a fraction of a second. It's nearly 100% reproducible and always happens on WM (openbox) start. Also when I watch tv or movies in (s)mplayer, screen freezes for a fraction of a second. I've tried to bisect this and found that this commit is responsible http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-2.6.38.y.git;a=commit;h=6254b32b5791e47ba1c679d023f26985fa34755a I know that this bug has nothing to do with Linus fix to ecryptfs, but it's the changes between those two snapshots are causing screen/mouse cursor lags. good - http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-2.6.38.y.git;a=snapshot;h=17db143fc091238c43ab9f373974ca2224a4c3f8;sf=tgz bad - http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-2.6.38.y.git;a=snapshot;h=6254b32b5791e47ba1c679d023f26985fa34755a;sf=tgz My hardware Motherboard: ASUS M3A78-T Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 905e RAM: 4x2GB 800MHz Kingston ECC DDR2 Graphic card: onboard (HD 3300) I'm using an open source driver (xf86-video-ati-git) HDD: Samsung HD322HJ 320GB OS: Arch Linux 64-bit Regards, Krzysztof Grygiencz
You can close this bug. I don't have this lockups anymore. Maybe it was something wrong with my hardware.
