2.6.35.7 kernel configuration

I encounter a problem that brightness doesn't be adjusted when I press Fn+F5/F6(brightness up/down) in Asus K52J machine.
I debug this problem when I change kernel command line(acpi_backlight and acpi_display_output) from "vendor" to "video", and this problem can be fixed.
I don't know whether backlight device module causes this problem, but the same asus-laptop module doesn't occur this problem in Asus K42JR machine.
I hope that I can understand the reason of this problem.

Thank you for your help!!

PS:In K52J machine : Fn+F5/F6 can work when enter BIOS setup window
