On an HP Pavilion dv2500 notebook, hp-wmi gives a backtrace. RF switch seems always blocked on rfkill output and thus wireless can not be enabled. Removing the hp-wmi module fixes the issue but the rfkill switch is not handled anymore. Relevant outputs are attached.

// Add acpi-bugzilla to CC list Well besides this crash I have 2 other reports which this hp-wmi soft blocks the WLAN devices regardless of the rfkill switch state.
Closing as obsolete, if this is still seen on modern kernels please update
