Description rocky.10.balboa 2004-05-13 03:57:51 UTC
Distribution:
Fedora Core 1.92
Hardware Environment:
AMD Duron 733 MhZ, VIA KT 133A Chipset based mainboard, 320 MB RAM, NVIDIA RIVA
TNT2 M64, Sound Blaster PCI 128
Software Environment:
Problem Description:
Moving from the kernel 2.6.5 to the 2.6.6 I am reporting the same problem
discussed here: http://www.uwsg.iu.edu/hypermail/linux/kernel/0101.0/0106.html.
I used the same kernel configuration used for the 2.6.5 one. I tried to force
IRQ for IDE1 with
ide1=0x170,0x376,15 on the kernel line but I still get lost interrupts error
messages. This problem isn't present with all the other 2.6.x family
kernels(using only stable releases).
Steps to reproduce:
Boot with a 2.6.6 kernel on a VIA KT 133A Chipset based mainboard
Comment 1 Bartlomiej Zolnierkiewicz 2004-05-13 09:01:49 UTC
Does booting with "acpi=noirq" parameter work?
Comment 2 rocky.10.balboa 2004-05-13 10:58:43 UTC
Using acpi=noirq it seems to boot without problems but I am still reporting
problems with AGP and the NVIDIA drivers(I recompiled them without results).
I'll check further for the AGP problem.
