Description CB 2004-04-22 04:45:10 UTC
Distribution: Debian

Hardware Environment: Compaq TabletPC TC1000 with docking station, USB keyboard
and mouse connected to the docking station.

cpu family : 6

model name : Transmeta(tm) Crusoe(tm) Processor TM5800

The docking station has a NEC USB2 Hub Controller (lsusb -vvv).

Problem Description:

Randomly, the USB keyboard or mouse, or both, freeze. If I unplug/plug the
freezed device, it works again. Notice that this does not append when the device
is connected directly to the tabletpc.

When a device freezes, I have the following message in /var/log/kern.log :

Apr 22 13:19:27 tabletpc kernel: drivers/usb/input/hid-core.c: can't resubmit
intr, 0000:00:0c.2-5.3/input0, status -32

0000:00:0c.2 being the USB2.0 NEC Controller (rev 02) (lspci -vvv).

Steps to reproduce:

Infortunetaly, I am not been able to find a way to reproduce the problem.
Sometime, I can use the USB keyboard and mouse several hours without any
problem, but sometime the USB keyboard or mouse freeze several during one hour.

Does this problem still exist with recent 2.6 kernels?
Comment 2 Greg Kroah-Hartman 2005-08-18 16:26:07 UTC
If this happens on 2.6.13-rc6 or greator, please reopen with the new kernel log
data.
