As recommended in https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1223194, reporting this to kernel.org. Please see above for details. It appears in the 6.8 and 6.9 series, most likely already in 6.7 I tested with kernel 6.6.11 where I could net see the mentioned behaviour, so it may be a regression System details: Operating System: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20240522 KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.2.0 Qt Version: 6.7.0 Kernel Version: 6.6.11-1.g05ae4ad-default (64-bit) Graphics Platform: X11 Processors: 12 × Intel® Core™ i7-9750H CPU @ 2.60GHz Memory: 15.4 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: Mesa Intel® UHD Graphics 630 Manufacturer: LENOVO Product Name: 20QWS0A8GE System Version: ThinkPad X1 Extreme 2nd
Would be really great if you could perform regression testing: https://docs.kernel.org/admin-guide/bug-bisect.html Just make sure you've pinpointed the working kernel version first.
If 6.7 was fine and 6.8 is not then it might be duplicate of Bug 218881 (see also: https://lore.kernel.org/all/7f4a777b-88f6-4429-b168-d1337d291386@yahoo.de/ )
Thanks for the hint, Thorsten. I tested 6.6 and currently on 6.7, up to now no issues. Will continue testing and report back
Hi, tested 6.7 and 6.8 in between, the issue was introduced with kernel 6.8. So, quite likely that this bug is double to #218881 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 218881 ***
