Description Antonio 2024-01-24 16:01:25 UTC
Hi,
on a Debian/sid 12 + kde/wayland + nouveau installation (Dell T1600), after updating the kernel from version 6.7.0-rc8 to version 6.7.0, I notice the system freezes when moving the mouse for a few seconds; same problem with kernel 6.7.1.

However, the server is accessible via ssh and seems to work normally, I don't see any warning or error messages in the journal and in dmesg.

After various tests, I found and verified that reverting this commit solves the problem:

git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux.git/commit/?h=v6.7.1&id=eacabb5462717a52fccbbbba458365a4f5e61f35

"nouveau: push event block/allowing out of the fence context"

If you can remove or review the changes introduced by this commit.

Thanks,
Antonio
