The Mackie ProFX16 is a mixer with a 2x4 USB interface. When I plug it on my computer, kern.log reports :

I can't get no sound from the card, neither can I play anything to it. I did'nt find any information regarding this -32 error code.

Please try:

echo "options snd-usb-audio quirk_flags=0x20" > /etc/modprobe.d/alsa.conf
and reboot

or alternatively:

disconnect all usb audio devices
modprobe -r snd-usb-audio
modprobe snd-usb-audio quirk_flags=0x20
connect ProFX16 back

We have recently identify similar problem with ProFX10v3 and that quirk helped:

Sorry for the late reply.

The quirk didn't work, neither with snd-usb-audio nor snd_usb_audio. I still got this messages:
