when i try to suspend, it goes into sleep (the fan spins a bit up as usual and it wakes up i tried everything to eliminate other factors (usb devices, plugged in or not) and still the same additional info : it is a tuxedo aura 15 gen 2
thx for your report. Thing is: this can be caused by all sort of changes (ACPI/PM, PCI, graphics, ...) and likely is something that happens only on a few machines (otherwise I likely would have seen more reports like this already). Due to these factors it really would be good if you could try the change that's causing the problem using "git bisect". Side note: Is your configuration supported by your laptop vendor? Then maybe tell them, they might be interested to look into this.

Update: adding s2idle.prefer_microsoft_guid=1 to GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT and setting pm-suspend sleep module to kernel allows Lenovo Legion Pro 5 16ARX8 to suspend.

This parameter doesn't do anything in the newer kernels and has been dropped. I suggest if you want to use s2idle you need to look for a BIOS setting related to it. Lenovo usually calls it "Sleep Mode" and refers to it as "Windows" or "Windows 10". If you don't have one you won't be able to do hardware s2idle and I suggest you use S3.
Thanks Mario. I just realized that I have to unplug HDMI cable from laptop - which I did when I was also adding the kernel option to grub as coincidence. Then pm-suspend works. I'll remove s2idle.prefer_microsoft_guid=1. Regarding amd_s2idle.py: I have module amd_pmc loaded but it always complains about 2023-07-22 16:59:22,375 ERROR: ❌ PMC driver `amd_pmc` not loaded even if it is as of root@LEGION5PRO:~# lsmod|grep amd_pmc amd_pmc 32768 0 Is this a bug?
No it's not a bug. It's just poor wording for your situation. It's not bound to an ACPI device. I may reword the error to make this clearer in the future.
