* Ubuntu is stuck on black screen after grub menu when kernel 5.11 is selected. * Boots fine on kernel 5.4.0-26.30. * Kernel 5.11 boots ok with `acpi=off`. * when I boot in recovery with 5.11 it's stuck after the line `[ACPI]...` * My laptop is Thinkpad Edge E130. * No graphics nvidia card present on my system. PS: I am not sure what to sort of report to attach.
Tried installing Fedora and Manjaro. Same thing.
* acpi=force acpi_osi=Linux works as well.
This is a pretty old machine. And I'm confused, you mentioned that "Ubuntu can't boot with acpi=off on kernel 5.11" in the subject but "Kernel 5.11 boots ok with `acpi=off`." in comment #0 So with kernel 5.11, does it boot okay without any acpi parameters?
