Notes:
- 2.6.36 boots fine on the same hardware.
- the kernel source tree I built is git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/ak/linux-misc-2.6.git (http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/ak/linux-misc-2.6.git;a=summary), last pulled on October 29, 2010.

I'm not sure why this bug report has been declared obsolete ? Last time I checked I could still reproduce this bug (that was with kernel 3.3).
