Description mombelli.mauro 2020-03-01 15:50:44 UTC
Since mainline 5.6.x I am having artifact like tearing and black frame (?) on my desktop, even with normal usage like scrolling files or watching video. They appear ever 5-10 minutes; interestingly they don't appear while in game.

Switching back to stable 5.5.6 solve all issues

Please attach your xorg log (if using X) and dmesg output. Also, can you bisect?

xf86-video-amdgpu 19.1.0-1 for 5.6.0-rc4-1-mainline
Comment 3 mombelli.mauro 2020-03-02 21:24:59 UTC
I updated to 5.6.0-rc4-1-mainline, the problem persist. Also while running stable, seems like the issue is still present, just much less pronounced.

I notice sometimes is like a black line on screen.

I could bisect but maybe I should find a stable version, or maybe is related to the desktop environment. As I use kde, should i maybe check if it happen with gnome too?

Problem seems to be fix with 5.6.0-rc5-1-mainline and (in case the issue was plasma/qt) KDE plasma 5.18.3, framework 5.67.0 and qt 5.14.1
