Comment 1 Zhang Rui 2019-09-03 12:56:29 UTC
what's your laptop model?

I've seen exactly the same error on my toshiba z830
[ 33.235369] ACPI BIOS Error (bug): Could not resolve symbol [\_SB.PCI0.SAT0.PRT0._SDD.GTF0], AE_NOT_FOUND (20190703/psargs-330)
[ 33.237202] ACPI Error: Aborting method \_SB.PCI0.SAT0.PRT0._SDD due to previous error (AE_NOT_FOUND) (20190703/psparse-531)
[ 33.239231] ACPI BIOS Error (bug): Could not resolve symbol [\_SB.PCI0.SAT0.PRT0._GTF.GTF0], AE_NOT_FOUND (20190703/psargs-330)
[ 33.241104] ACPI Error: Aborting method \_SB.PCI0.SAT0.PRT0._GTF due to previous error (AE_NOT_FOUND) (20190703/psparse-531)

But this is a BIOS error that we can not fix in Linux kernel.

BTW, it is harmless, so don't worry about it.

It is not a laptop, it's a motherboard, GIGABYTE Z370P-D3.

Please attach the acpidump output and let me confirm if this is the same BIOS issue.
If yes, I'd suggest you to try the latest BIOS upgrade and see if the problem is gone or not, but anyway, we can not fix it in the kernel.
