HP Spectre x360 has Intel SST (Microphone array) configuration.
Everything works fine on windows but facing problems on Linux.
Tried various kernels, no luck.

Let me know if you need any details.

HP Spectre x360 2019 here, no luck with internal microphone after a lot of testing and messing around with hdajackretask.

It works for Windows. I tried extracting pin config from windows but
failed. Maybe you can give it a try?

Are you running PulseAudio? If you don't please try it - with pure ALSA the mic on my x360 (though a much older model) also doesn't work.

Yes. I am using pulseaudio. I also tried playing with input devices using
pavucontrol.

HP Spectre x360 2019 owner here. Same problem, tried hdajackretask, ALSA - can't get any input from microphone. Is there anything that I can provide?

Microphone still not listed - kernel 5.4-rc1

I have the same issue on my HP Spectre X360 (2018) model: ap0317ng, Realtek ALC285
Tested with Fedora 30 and 31 (kernel versions: 5.0.x. 5.1.x. 5.2.x. 5.3.2 and now 5.4-rc1)

Adding alsa-script output in the attachment
Comment 9 Moosa Mahsoom 2019-10-24 00:02:29 UTC
It could be an issue with the HDA Verbs. there is a similar issue for ALC295 https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=195457

For Fedora guys:

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1772498

It's really WiP. And actually, we're waiting for the upgraded firmware v1.4 from Intel.

Any news?

HP Spectre x360 2019 owner here. Same problem.
I posted in https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=311056&p=1754567#p1754567

I ran

```
wget http://www.alsa-project.org/alsa-info.sh -O alsa-info.sh && bash alsa-info.sh
```

and got http://alsa-project.org/db/?f=4df22a823ed298affa8c10f4f6d95e6bda9faf55 with information about my system.

The first posting is from April 2019 and the last is from November 2019 and now it's January 2020. Does it mean it might NEVER happen or it is easily possible that another 6-12 month will pass?

Is it possible to provide an estimation how long this might take?
Comment 12 Guillermo Galizzi 2021-09-10 14:13:06 UTC
It's fixed for me now on Kernel 5.14. I'm on Manjaro.
