Do the issues go away when you boot with "idle=poll"?
Comment 2 Patrizio Bassi 2010-10-19 08:11:11 UTC
After bumping to -rc8 with cpu_idle but without cpu_idle_intel compiled i can't reproduce the issue anymore.
It's really strange because i could not see any commit related to a similar issue.

I'll wait 2.6.36 vanilla to be out to test again with the intel module too.
Comment 3 Len Brown 2010-10-20 16:34:58 UTC
please re-open if you can reproduce this with 2.6.36-rc8 or later
Comment 4 Patrizio Bassi 2010-10-22 08:57:45 UTC
i confirm 2.6.36 final with
CONFIG_ARCH_HAS_CPU_IDLE_WAIT=y
CONFIG_ARCH_HAS_DEFAULT_IDLE=y
CONFIG_CPU_IDLE=y
CONFIG_CPU_IDLE_GOV_LADDER=y
CONFIG_CPU_IDLE_GOV_MENU=y
CONFIG_INTEL_IDLE=y

looks stable now.

i will reopen if any issues happen
