Elan touchscreen does not work on upgrade to 4.13.0-041300rc1-generic, while i know it is a non mainline kernel. Tried to use Touchscreen calibration as well, no inputs or mouse clicks of any kind will work across screeen.

Could that be the same issue that Bug 196519 discussed? BTW:  Does it still happen in latest master? There was a fix that might be relevant if this hardware ha a quirk: https://git.kernel.org/torvalds/c/cf601774c9f23078010adc9e6cd29470fafa5678
