Using a Sapphire AMD Radeon RX 480 Graphic Card with the amdgpu driver. Since a Linux Kernel upgrade from 4.10.6 to 4.11.4, I'm experiencing screen flickering (full black or white screen blinking) when the picture on the screen in changing (video, moving windows). There is no flickering when displaying a static picture. The flickering occurs when the screen (with a DVI connector) is connected to the Graphic Card's HDMI port. There is no flickering when the screen is plugged to one of the Radeon's Display ports (with a HDMI to Display port adapter). This flickering didn't occur with Kernel 4.10.6. $ cat /etc/fedora-release Fedora release 25 (Twenty Five) $ uname -a Linux amn 4.11.4-200.fc25.x86_64 #1 SMP Wed Jun 7 18:28:00 UTC 2017 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
Can you bisect? Please attach your xorg log and dmesg output.

I just figured out that the flickering occurs only when logging using Wayland. When using xorg, there is no flickering (I attached xorg log files in case it may be useful). I'll attach Wayland log files as soon as I find them (please point me to them if you know where they are). And I'll try to bisect soon.
Created attachment 257081 [details] Xorg log file Please note that the flickering doesn't occur when using xorg. This file is just there to provide additional information.
I can confirm this behaviour.
Forgot to mention that I am using the displayport connector. So it does not only affect HDMI.
I haven't experienced any flickering for a while (be it with Wayland or Xorg, one monitor connected to a HDMI port and one another to a DisplayPort). This seems to have been fixed. $ cat /etc/fedora-release Fedora release 26 (Twenty Six) $ uname -a Linux amn 4.13.5-200.fc26.x86_64 #1 SMP Thu Oct 5 16:53:13 UTC 2017 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
