Description Juraj Fiala 2017-02-02 13:55:30 UTC
acer_wmi gets loaded for some reason, even though this is a Lenovo Thinkpad X220. Obviously it fails but it leaves an annoying fail mark in the boot log. Everything else is functional to my knowledge.

I’ve tried searching the net, there are several issues from 2011 regarding other Thinkpads where the wireless wouldn’t load and acer_wmi would need to be disabled.

On my machine blacklisting doesn’t remove the error however.

This is the error that gets shown:

[ 29.381061] acer_wmi: Acer Laptop ACPI-WMI Extras
[ 29.381069] acer_wmi: No or unsupported WMI interface, unable to load

(I’m running Arch Linux.)

Thanks.

Sorry we don't support any WMI related drivers in ACPI category.
They belongs to platform specific hardware.
Let me re-assign.

Thanks
Lv
