On linux-4.5.0-1 upwards, byt_max98080 sound cards (in some bay trail devices) no longer seem to initialise.

After updating, the card dissapears from dmesg and alsa, and gives out no sound.

Reverting to a version of the kernel prior to linux-4.5.0-1 resolves this issue.

There has been further discussion of the subject on the ArchLinux bugtracker, however so far no bug has been registered on the kernel bugtracker.
